: Does anyone know of a source for just the guts to Model A door locks? The original stainless clad handles are so much better than the repro locks, I hate to give up on them.

Ron:I had both of my 1930 Tudor stainless clad handles rebuilt. The passenger side was re-keyed.They look fabulous and are definitely better than the repros. The rebuilder's name was
Howard Denker, 1518 South 143rd Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68144
phone 1-402-333-1393.On mine, the lock cylinder and escutcheon had to be replated and the sleeve and locking dog replaced.Howard seemed to have extra parts available for the rebuild. On the driver's side there was also some replating necessary (the brass parts of the handle.)Not everything was stainless steel.Total cost was around $70.00.Not cheap butby the time you buy 2 repro handles and consider the quality difference... Good luck.
