Larry, I'm not an ignition expert, Model A or otherwise, but I run a Model B head (with the cast "C" as are all Model B heads according to the Francis and DeAngelis book, "The Early Ford V-8 As Henry Built It") on my A engine and run .035 gap.Never had any problems with fouling or power. In fact it pulls the ol' seedan along right smart.
