I bought a $50 replacement muffler and was dissapointed. The replacement fit OK but was louder than the one on the car when I bought it. I decided to replace the orginal because it was rusted and seemed loud compared to other Model As. To my surprise the $50 replacement was even louder. My guess is the higher price versions are of higher quality and have the correct number of baffles which should make them sound right.
